1. Who we are
Neighbor Table is a marketplace that connects home bakers (“Bakers”) with local buyers (“Neighbors”) for pickup of home-prepared food. We are a platform; Bakers are independent sellers responsible for their food.
2. Cottage food compliance
Bakers may only sell items permitted under applicable Wisconsin cottage food law, prepared in a private residential home, properly labeled with ingredients and allergens. Meat, dairy as a primary ingredient, and temperature-controlled foods are not permitted.
2a. Baker responsibility for food safety & labeling
Bakers are solely and fully responsible for the food they prepare and sell — including its safety, handling, accuracy of ingredient and allergen labeling, and compliance with all applicable food-safety, cottage-food, licensing, tax, and labeling laws. Neighbor Table is a neutral marketplace that connects Bakers and Neighbors; it does not prepare, handle, inspect, test, or guarantee any food, and is not the producer, seller, or guarantor of any item. Neighbors should direct any questions about ingredients or allergens to the Baker before ordering.
3. Orders & payments
Neighbors pay the item total plus a platform service fee at checkout via Stripe. The Baker receives the item total. Refunds are issued to the original payment method when an order is declined or cancelled.
4. Pickup
Orders are for local pickup at the Baker’s stated location and window. The exact pickup address is shared after an order is placed.
5. Conduct
You agree to provide accurate information and to use Neighbor Table lawfully. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
6. Disclaimer
Food is prepared by independent Bakers. Neighbor Table does not inspect or guarantee food and is not liable for food prepared by Bakers, to the extent permitted by law.
